Last night was one of those parties that reminds me exactly why I love being a DJ. Kim’s 60th birthday celebration at Horsham Sports Club was absolutely buzzing from start to finish, with friends and family coming together for a proper party.
The brief was simple: keep the dance floor full and lean heavily into the 80s. Mission very much accomplished.
The Party Atmosphere
From the moment the music started, the room felt ready to celebrate. I set up with my VW DJ booth, Bose sound system, and controlled lighting, which allowed me to tailor the atmosphere as the night built. Early on it was warm and relaxed, then later we ramped things up into full on party mode.
The Bose system delivered clear, punchy sound without being overwhelming, perfect for a mixed age crowd who wanted to dance but still chat between tracks.
Music on the Night
The playlist was a diverse party mix, but the following 80s classics really stole the show. Think big singalongs, dance floor fillers, and those tracks that instantly transport everyone back a few decades. I blended those with crowd pleasing party anthems from other eras to keep everyone involved.
