Matt and Salem booked me back in 2022 for their wedding celebration at Hampton Court Palace. Right from the start, it was obvious this was going to be a very very special day. In fact it was EPIC, and the weather was perfect! Matt and Salem meticulously organised a medieval themed wedding which resonated with the history at this world class venue. All the guests arrived in medieval dress, and their hosts looking absolutely fabulous in their amazing costumes. As for the music I played, you will see in a few moments how this fitted so well with their big day!
Matt and Salem asked me to provide the soundtrack to their ceremony, and the background music to the whole day. I was also the MC for the day, and DJ’d their evening party to close this amazing day.
The Ceremony music
The first part of Matt and Salem’s day took place outdoors in the Garden Room at Hampton Court Palace. Matt accompanied by his wedding party and father walked down the aisle to Great Fairy Fountain – Taylor Davis, while Salem and his siblings came in to Kingdom Hearts – Dearly Beloved. After a brilliant and personal ceremony led brilliantly by uncle Paul, Matt and Salem walked out to Concerning Hobbits from The Lord of the Rings. Have a listen:
After the ceremony, drinks were served with nibbles whilst themed garden games such as axe throwing took place! This is the background music I played here, including some Bardcore which always brings a smile to guests as they realise which tune is playing:
Before we moved on to the next part of the day, guests took part in a medieval dance led by the wedding party. This was brilliant and such fun for everyone:
The Privy Garden reception
As the afternoon progressed, everyone was treated to a procession through the historic palace into the Privy Garden. This amazing space was filled with the sound of guests having an amazing time whilst sipping Mead. I provided the musical background to this, have a listen:
The wedding breakfast in the Great Hall
At Hampton Court Palace, The Great Hall is one of the most incredible spaces available for a wedding meal, and for Matt and Salem, it just had to be there. For their Grand Entrance, I introduced Matt and Salem to a very powerful piece of music; Solid – Masayoshi Soken. Following wonderful speeches by the wedding party, everyone enjoyed a splendid meal until night fell. Just take a look at these snaps, the Great Hall really is a National Treasure:

The evening party in the Undercroft
As the evening progressed, we all moved from the Great Hall to the Undercroft which had been transformed into a cool nightclub. Here, I had set up my unique split screen VW DJ booth to DJ from. Following a traditional cutting of the cake, and first dance, I played a selection of requests from Matt and Salem, and their amazing guests until it was time to close. Here is what I played:
